Jennifer Johnson is a local artist, based in Collingwood Ontario. While her earlier works were inspired by the gorgeous landscapes of Central and Northern Ontario, Johnson has recently begun exploring abstract expressions of the urban landscape.

Johnson studied painting and related arts at Georgian College, the Toronto School of Art, and the Haliburton School of the Arts, supplemented with workshops and private lessons from well-known local and regional artists.

Johnson’s work has been shown at the BMFA, Creemore Festival of the Arts, and the LE Shore Gallery. Several of her paintings have traveled across the pond to find homes in Mumbai, Prague, and London UK.

This artist currently works from a studio located in the Scarlett Gallery at 77 Simcoe Street in Collingwood.

A painting need not be realistic, but it must be believable.
