Artist Profile
Julie Nolan
Biography
| Julie Nolan grew up in South Western Ontario, farm country, and now resides in Collingwood, Ontario on the shore of South Georgian Bay. As a painter rooted in the vibrant landscapes of Canada, Julie strives to capture more than scenery—ahe aims to evoke memory and emotion through place. She is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the Canadian landscape, particularly Georgian Bay and Muskoka, where shifting skies and expansive water create moments that feel both powerful and deeply personal. Julie’s work explores the relationship between nature and memory. Through bold, luminous acrylic colour, she translates striking skies and fleeting light into compositions that balance realism and impressionism. These scenes are often tied to nostalgic experiences—long summer evenings, quiet mornings by the water, and time spent outdoors. | |
