Darren Villeneuve

My fondest memories are of cottaging and camping in northern Ontario. As a result of my affinity with nature, The Group of Seven and Tom Thomson caught my eye at an early age. Tom Thomson’s “Northern River”, hung on the classroom wall in my grade 9 art class. I remember being mesmerized by it and wondering how on earth someone could paint like that. For me, their work truly captures the spirit of the Canadian landscape and inspires me to do the same.
