Art Xpress!
4 – 6 PM – Saturday, September 27th
Art Xpress! is a live artmaking event for young and emerging artists.
Artists will show off their creativity as they make a piece of artwork in just 20 minutes, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. During each 20-minute lightning round, the artists will be asked to create original works inspired by the music being played.
The event will have 2 rounds – one at 4pm and the other at 6pm- and they will take place Saturday, September 27th on Simcoe Street (just east of the Public Library) in Collingwood.
Belly Dancing
4:15 – 5 PM – Saturday, September 27th
Cassandra Fox is a professional dance artist known locally and internationally for her engaging and dynamic performances.
Inspired by her Jamaican heritage and her study of Rags Sharqi, Cassandra has developed her own unique style by blending elements of Caribbean music and movement such as soca, dancehall, Calypso and reggae with belly dance. Cassandra has been showcasing her amazing talent at Tholos in Blue Mountain Village since 2012 but has had the privilege of performing at dance intensives and events throughout North and South America, Europe and the UK. Delighted to be a part of this year’s Art Crawl, Cassandra is looking forward to sharing some dancing with everyone!
Performances will take place in front of the “Collingwood” sign near Town Hall at 4:15pm & 5pm on Saturday, September 27th.
Seizan Budokan dojo
5:30 – 6:30 PM – Saturday, September 27th
This year, Art Crawl is honoured to present a very special offering of traditional Japanese martial arts brought to you by the artists of Seizan Budokan dojo.
This demonstration will showcase classical Japanese swordsmanship along with a series of unarmed striking techniques and sparring, some of which date back as far as the 1600s. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to witness this live-action display of traditional martial arts and weapons training. Everything gets started at 5:30pm and will run until 6:30pm at the 84 Hurontario Parkette, across from Town Hall on Saturday, September 27th.

Come witness the story of Art Crawl as it’s drawn into existence.
