Heather Gilboe
Biography
I have studied at the AGO, The Tate Modern (U.K) and private art studios.
At the core, my practice explores renewal: care, and attention. Each finish piece is both a record of meticulous process and an open invitation for ongoing discovery.
My work explores fragility, resilience and transformation through humble reclaimed materials. Broken eggshells and raw canvas – objects often overlooked I carefully preserved, strengthen and reimagined through slow, deliberate process. The application of plaster, paper mache and a wash of calm natural colours of acrylic paint create monochromatic texture, shadow, and subtle variation, while vibrant hues introduce energy, movement and emotional resonance.
