Beads for Africa is a charitable project I started about 12 years ago. We make jewelry and related items featuring African paper beads and locally donated recycled beads. All proceeds support at-risk women and children in Kenya, in particular at-risk children with diabetes, and a nursery school in a slum. I work with two registered nurses/diabetes educators who care for the children in Nairobi. We have raised about $80,000 for these projects. Your purchases enable us to provide medical supplies for the children with diabetes, and two hot meals/day for the nursery school children.
