Kara McIntosh is a contemporary Canadian artist who explores the rhythms and patterns of the natural landscape in an abstracted style. Using strong, assured brushwork, Kara works to capture her own connections to the natural world, collect moments, tell a story and examine how we experience place. Painted elements are rendered in both loose impasto and careful brushstrokes that reference traditional landscape painting. With bright, unexpected colours peeking through the natural compositions, Kara’s work offers a refreshing take on landscape subject matter.
Kara lives near Nottawa, ON and works full-time from her studio in The Tremont located in The Creative Simcoe Street district of Collingwood. Her works can be found in many private collections in Canada, the US, Europe and Australia.
